Cluj had an easy match against another Lithuania team Vetra who is currently above Zalgiris in the league in the Intertoto Cup 1st round. But in the 2nd round and 3rd round they were against much stronger team from Spain and France. St Etienne had the meanest league home defence last season and has also one of the best league home form, but Cluj still manage to score 2.
There is rumors of fixed match between Cluj and Zalgiris in the quarter final, but in favor of Cluj to win. Cluj does not have history of match fixing but with the way they are playing now, they will not have much problem with Zalgiris. They also will have player coach Dorinel Munteanu back in midfield to guide the team. In attack, they had in form forward Cosmin Tilinca who had scored in all the Intetoto Cup games except for the away lost in Spain and the away win over Zalgiris.
Cluj started their Romania league with a 1-1 draw against Sportul SB who is 6th in the league last season with 7-5-3 F16 A10 home form last week.

Lens start their France Ligue 1 campaign with a 2-0 away lost to Nantes but came back with a 2-0 win over Marseille last week. Marseille had a ppor start to the French Ligue 1, losing 2 of 2, scoring none and conceding 4 goals. Lens had an away league form of 3-7-9 F15 A24 last season and it looks like their poor away form continue into the new season. With only 1 away win so far at Leh, they had not won their last 3 away games since then. The result speaks for themselves, draw Varteks 1-1 and Wolfsburg 0-0 and lost Nantes 2-0 away but big win over Varteks and Wolfsburg at home and winning their 1st league home game.
Though Lens had lost last season top-scorer Nigerian John Utaka, they had a great replacement in Ivory Coast striker Aruna Dindane from Anderlecht. Polish defender Jacek Bak and striker Dagui Bakari had also been transferred out. French midfielder Yohan Demont from Ajaccio and Eric Carriere from Lyon are 2 of the better known players been signed too.
So if Cluj is to get something from here, they will have to take care of Dindane which I think they can do it, considering how well they had done so far and Lens is poor away. Expect in form forward Cosmin Tilinca to cause trouble at Lens defence. Recommend to :icon_up:
